Classes

We are a small school made up of three classes; a 3 year old, 4 year old and 5 year old group. Our teaching staff are fully qualified HDE Pre-primary trained teachers who are supported by teacher assistants.   

School Hours

School opens from 7h45 and closes at 12h30. Additional extra murals are offered after school.

Facilities

Our school is set in an acre of wonderful garden encircled by a cycle track and full of a challenging assortment of climbing, balancing, swinging, hanging and exploratory equipment.

We have 3 spacious classrooms each with its separate, adjoining creative activity area.

Daily Educational Program

Our school routine offers a balance of free play choice activities interspersed with teacher planned rings which are organized group time under the guidance and direction of the teacher.

Arrival
7:45 - 8:30
Free play indoors (drawing, puzzles, construction toys,
play dough, fantasy play, perceptual games
First Ring
8:30 - 8:45
Morning welcome (greeting, register, weather teller and helpers
theme/general news discussion, instructions for creative activities
Creative Art
8:45 - 9:15
Develops and strengthens fine motor and perceptual skills
Supervised Free Play
9:15 - 10:00
Children play outdoors (develops social, imaginative, fantasy,
gross motor and experimental play
Second Ring
10:00 - 10:30

Toilet Routine
● Snack
Prepared rings focused on developing a variety of skills
(cognitive, perceptual, numeracy, physical gross motor,
science, drama, song or music)

● Independence and healthy habits instilled
● Children take turns to server their friends ate the table
Supervise Outdoor Play
10:30 - 11:50
Wheeled toys available (bikes, wagons, scooters);
teachers set up a variety of physical, imaginative,
experimental and sensory activities around the garden
Tidy Up Time
11:50 - 12:00
Each group will be responsible for assisting to tidy up and put all the equipment away ( cooperation and organization skills)
Story
12:00 - 12:30
Library (Friday)
Story is told using a variety of visual aids, (puppets, props, illustrations)
Develops listening, concentration, memory, literacy and language skills
LEGAl / COMPLIANCE

Riviera Nursery School is a non-profit company managed by a Committee of parents.

Any profit made during the year is used to maintain, upgrade the school and purchase new equipment, games and toys for our children and our books are audited annually.
